"Volunteering at New Threads of Hope has enriched my life by permitting me to reach out to the needy."
“It is with great joy and gratefulness in my heart that I can help other people to feel better about themselves as I help sort items for their needs. It is a fulfillment in one's self and also a responsibility on earth to help people in need as God would have me do. It is a wonderful feeling to have the fellowship with the people who are volunteers also--the same goals. Praise be to God for this privilege of being a volunteer at New Threads of Hope, a giving and caring organization.”

"It takes so little effort to help those who need so much. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve an organization dedicated to such a worthy cause."

Individuals and volunteers groups are the lifeblood of NewThreads of Hope. Volunteers enable us to receive, process and deliver to needy families and individuals over 100,000 clothing items annually.
NewThreads of Hope is committed to providing an environment in which volunteers can experience the joy of providing needy families and individuals with new shirts and slacks, boots and jackets--new items many of them may never have had before.
We invite churches and community organizations to consider forming a volunteer team of 6 to 10 people to volunteer on a monthly or bimonthly basis. We guarantee that the NewThreads of Hope mission will "grow on you" and you will experience a high level of personal satisfaction in knowing that your work is touching the lives of very deserving people.
Getting started is simple. Complete and email the following "Volunteer Application Form" to NewThreads of Hope and we will promptly thank and welcome you.
Volunteers of the Year - 2010 - Ron & Carolyn Schmeling
VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR - 2010
NewThreads would like to recognize with gratitude Ron and Carolyn Schmeling with the first Annual Volunteer of the Year Award for their nearly 20 years of volunteer service. Practically since the very beginning of our mission in 1990, Ron and Carolyn have played an integral part in our outreach.
As principal of Schmeling Consulting Group, in the 1990’s Ron volunteered his time to assist us with resource development and volunteer recruitment. We were grateful when he agreed to serve on our Board of Directors and as Secretary of NewThreads. It was a fortunate day, indeed, for NewThreads, when Ron retired, thinking he might spend more time fishing at the lake.
Carolyn had different plans, however. She decided that their retirement should be spent doing even more to assist those in need in the community. Carolyn continues to lead a volunteer group from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brookfield that helps sort, process and distribute merchandise. The Immanuel volunteers come two mornings each month to help in the warehouse.
Together, Ron & Carolyn spend several days each week coordinating distributions to local non-profits through the Two Tunics program that operates from the NewThreads warehouse.
Thank you, Ron & Carolyn. You are an inspiration to us all!
